Zoolights

I had heard from friends that Zoolights in Calgary were awesome to go to.  Curt and I decided we wanted to take Jace on Saturday and the McMahon's also wanted to come.  We decided that we would leave at 4:30 (skipping suppertime) and just have loads of snacks for the kids on the way up.  So we all piled into the McMahon vehicle and off we went at 4:30.
Jace was sitting in Ben's carseat and facing forwards for the first time, and he couldn't see Curt or I.  So by the time we hit Gasoline alley, he was screaming.  Which is unlike him in the car.  I don't know how Ben slept through it all but he did!  Jace screamed for about half the trip.  Nothing seemed to work!  Addi sang a bit to Jace and that worked a little.  We were all thinking that these better be the best lights ever!
After a quick detour in Airdrie for the bathroom we finally made it to Calgary.  Only to sit in line in the car for a good 25 minutes before we even made it into the park!  By now Ben had woken up and was hungry, Jace was still whimpering/crying in his seat and Addi felt like puking.  I think all the adults felt like crying!  But we ventured on!
So we finally get into the park and it was worth it.  The lights were beautiful, we were all amazed at how big it all was.  Jace was super happy to be out of the car seat, he was smiling, waving, clapping and bouncing in his stroller the entire time!  We got a picture of the 3 kids to document this roadtrip, lol.
The way back was much quieter!!!  Jace and Ben cuddled into their blankets and watched Cars.  Jace was alseep for most of the ride, and Addi zonked out as soon as we pulled out of the parking lot.
It was a rough start, but a really fun trip with good friends.  Oh ya, have I mentioned that the 7 of us plan to drive to Seattle this summer?!!!  We agreed that we needed 2 vehicles, lol!

Dad Made Jace a Fort!!!!!

I thought it would be cute to put Jace in his housecoat and slippers... he did not think it was so cute!

I took these pictures a few weeks ago, and forgot to post them!  Curt took Jace in the morning, so that I could sleep in.  When I came out of the bedroom this is what I saw!  Jace is quite a mover and is into everything lately.  So Curt decided to build a little corral, using the dining room chairs!  Too funny!!!

Jace's First Birthday Party!

On Saturday we had Jace's first birthday party!  It was a baseball theme and it turned out wonderful!!!!  We went to Curt's school, so we had lots of room!  Thank you to everyone who came out and celebrated!  A big thank you to everyone who helped set up and clean up too!!!!

Happy Birthday Jace banner over the gift table.  On that table we had a bat and a ball that everyone signed for Jace.  We hope it will be a cool keepsake that he can look back at a few years from now!

Curt and I made another banner that had a picture of each from each month.  Here are two pictures from that banner.

We tried to come up with baseball park themed food.  we had pizza, corn dogs, nachos and cheese, licorice, popcorn, pretzels and little snacks for all the babies!

Stars, puffs, goldfish and popcorn twists for the kids.

Merry Christmas!

Stacey came over the other night to take some pictures for our Christmas card this year.  It was so hard to pick a picture!  Jace loved playing with the lights, ornaments and the tree.  We put the tree up in the basement this year so it was less tempting for the little man!  As soon as he gets downstairs he makes a beeline for the ornaments.  Already the tree is looking a little bare at the bottom!!!
